Sevenoaks Town Council has reported a strong financial performance for the year ending 31 March 2026. The Town Council has delivered a surplus closely aligned with budget expectations, while overseeing more than £1.3 million of capital investment in community facilities, sports infrastructure and environmental sustainability projects across the town.
The Council’s Finance & Delivery Committee reviewed and accepted the Statement of Accounts at its meeting on 8 June 2026. Committee members noted the clear Internal Audit Report and the auditor’s assessment of a “well-managed and robust governance framework”.
The accounts show a revenue surplus of £23,593, compared with the target of £20,000. Venue hire income was one of the areas which helped with this surplus, including from the Town Council’s Bat & Ball Community Centre and Council Chamber.
The Town Council also secured significant external funding during the year, successfully securing over £1.9m in grants, including:
- £158,890 in Community Transport Grants from Kent County Council for two electric minibuses
- £1,125 Tesco Bags for Life funding for free holiday lunches for children
- £20,000 Rural Grant Scheme funding from Sevenoaks District Council for solar batteries at Bat & Ball Community Centre
- £250 grant from Kent Youth Trust for gaming chairs at House in the Basement
- £787,500 Community Infrastructure Levy funding from Sevenoaks District Council towards the Greatness Pavilion project
- £759,100 Football Foundation grant for the Greatness Pavilion
- £150,000 Premier League Stadium Fund grant for the Greatness Pavilion

- £10,000 National Lottery funding to support the running costs of House in the Basement
- £500 Members Grant for a Health & Wellness Initiative
- £20,000 Community Infrastructure Levy funding from Sevenoaks District Council for the Dartford Road crossing project.
Cllr Nigel Wightman, Chair of the Finance & Delivery Committee commented, “These results demonstrate the Town Council’s careful financial management and our commitment to ensuring value for money for Sevenoaks residents. By maintaining a strong financial position and securing significant external funding, we have been able to invest in major community projects and ensure our local facilities are well-maintained.”
