Our contractor will soon be carrying out specialist cleaning and restoration works to the Vine Memorial. The work is due to start in September and will take around two weeks.

Project details
There is corrosion on the brass statue that is causing staining to the granite pedestal and also obscuring some names. Sevenoaks Town Council has instructed bronze specialist, Antique Bronze, to:
- Remove all dirt grime and failed wax coating using Super Heated Water System (DOFF)
- Thin the corrosion layer using gel cleaning and prepare the surface for repatination
- Repatinate the bronze to its original dark coin shade
- Apply Micro-crystalline wax, buffing to a soft satin finish.
This work is due to start in September and should take around two weeks to complete.
