In setting its budget for 2025/2026 the Town Council increased considerably the grant budget for local voluntary organisations, recognising their vital importance to the community and the increasing pressures they are under.

The first round of grant applications for this financial year was considered at the Town Council’s Finance & Delivery Committee on 1st September 2025.

The following grants were awarded to local organisations:

Baby Umbrella: £1,000
Sevenoaks Counselling: £1,500
Citizens Advice, North West Kent: £500
Sevenoaks in A Time of Change, Portraits of the Artists £500
Hi Kent: £1,000
Sevenoaks (Loaves & Fishes) Foodbank: £1,000
Home Start South West Kent: £500
Sevenoaks PHAB: £400
PS Breastfeeding CIC: £500
West Kent Mind: £1,500

The Youth Services Committee considers grant applications specifically aimed at young people and at its 10th September 2025 meeting agreed to award the following:

Sevenoaks Three Arts, Young Musician of the Year: £650

The Chair of the Finance & Delivery Committee, Cllr Nigel Wightman, commented, “There are a great number of charities and support groups in Sevenoaks working for the benefit of our whole community. Although we have a small budget, we try hard to provide them with financial support and this is our first round of funding for this year. A second round will respond to requests later in the financial year. I am also very happy that we are able to support the Sevenoaks Young Musician of the Year event.”

The next round of grant applications will be considered in February 2026, applications to be submitted by Friday 9th January 2026. The application form and guidance notes can be downloaded on this webpage.
