The Town of Sevenoaks is a constantly refreshing place to live and work. Its reputation for being a great place to visit has been established for many years and it has grown to include the highly successful Stag Community Arts Centre, celebrating 10 years since it was saved by the Town Council, and which underpins the thriving restaurants in the evenings and weekends.
Last year’s Mayor, Councillor Maxine Chakowa, was such a ray of sunshine throughout her year that it is going to be very hard to follow in her footsteps. She was hugely successful in raising funds and awareness for the Breast Cancer Care charity.
For 2018-19 the Mayor’s Charity will be the Sevenoaks Powerchair Football Club. We have one of the top teams in the country and I encourage everyone to come along to see them play. It will be a Paralympic Sport in 2024 and, who knows, Sevenoaks may contribute players to the national team. I will be supporting this and three other charities via the Sevenoaks Fund.
