Sevenoaks Town Councillor's met on Monday' the 3rd July 2017 to consider a request from Kent County Council for evidence supporting a claimed public right of way between Morewood Close and Bosville Drive in Sevenoaks under the arches of the mainline railway.
Councillors felt strongly that the, recently closed, path had provided a key link for residents in the area for many decades, allowing them access to the mainline station easily and quickly. During its work on the Sevenoaks Town Neighbourhood Plan the Council has become increasingly aware that the railway lines in Sevenoaks act as significant blockages to pedestrian and cycle movements in the Town, turning what should be short journeys into 10-15minute diversions. The Town Council is keen to support any initiatives which minimise this blockage to movement.
To assist with the call for information the Town Council has produced a pro forma witness statement which can be used by members of the public to record their experience using the path to assist with Kent County Council's consideration process.
